Context
In early 2025, heightened immigration enforcement led to sudden family separations, often without notice. This exposed a critical gap: families lacked clear, accessible tools to prepare for ICE emergencies. Existing resources were overly complex and ineffective in moments of crisis.

Solution
Ready Now is a mobile application that simplifies emergency planning in the event of an ICE encounter.  The application guides users to develop a series of emergency messages, containing critical information required for child and dependent care, personal safety, and legal defense.

If faced with arrest, users press the alert button, and Ready Now will securely notify and deliver the emergency messages to pre-assigned personal contacts and legal aid so they can take action.

What did I do?
I led the team through the HCD process, from problem definition to implementation, coordinating across engineering, design, program teams and external stakeholders to drive progress andensure alignment.

I conducted rapid-reponse discoveries, including interviews, workshops and co-design sessions with users and stakeholders.

I facilitated ideation workshops, co-created service blueprints, aligning cross-functional teams around MVP concepts and ideal state visions.

If faced with arrest, the user simply presses the big, red alert button, and ReadyNow will securely notify and deliver the emergency messages to pre-assigned personal contacts and legal aid so they can take swift action.
